Eva Steinhaus has been working as a financing expert at the AHK United Arab Emirates based in Dubai since April 2024. Her regional focus is on the Middle East and North Africa - in particular the Gulf States and selected North African markets.
On site, she supports German exporters, their partners and local buyer companies with financing issues in international business and provides comprehensive advice on the possible uses of export credit guarantees - from securing individual receivables to structured financing for larger projects.
Through individual advice, networking events and targeted approaches to companies, she contributes to the dissemination of export credit guarantees in the region and strengthens the German-Arab business network.
Eva Steinhaus is fluent in German, English and Arabic.

The Federal Government's export credit guarantees - also known as Hermes Cover - are a reliable instrument for securing export transactions from Germany. They offer protection against economic and political risks, particularly in trade with countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Exporting companies thus protect themselves against payment defaults and can offer their customers attractive financing solutions at the same time. Importers also benefit: Government protection facilitates access to credit lines and creates trust with local banks.
The export credit guarantees do not work alone: in close cooperation with strong partners - such as the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), Euler Hermes as mandatary as well as international development banks and institutions such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) or the African Development Bank - a stable network is created to support export projects.
Whether machinery, equipment or services - the Federal Government's export credit insurance creates a solid basis for long-term and successful business relations between Germany and the MENA region.

The main criteria when assessing your export business for cover with an export credit guarantee are:
- The creditworthiness of the foreign customer
- The respective country risk
- The proportion of German value added
- Usual contractual terms (payment terms and term)
- Compliance with environmental, social and human rights standards
We secure your export business
After a positive check, you will receive
Before signing the contract:
- a binding, provisional commitment
And after conclusion of the contract
- the letter of acceptance (final commitment)
- the declaration of warranty (certificate of cover)
- the invoice
